America is a Fair and Just Nation

We even let people out of prison when they become unable to sleep and otherwise are reduced to "sniveling messes" - as long as the people in question are named "Paris Hilton." The classic quote attributed to her lawyers is worth sharing:
“She provides hope for young people all over the U.S. and the world. She provides beauty and excitement to (most of) our otherwise mundane lives.”
Her lawyers should try out comedy writing as a profession. I gathered Al Sharpton was not amused, however, and he did make some salient points regarding the role of race and economic privilege that would lead the likes of Ms. Hilton to get released from prison early due to insomnia and anxiety while most others who might have actual legitimate health problems would surely be left to suffer.
