Republicans apparently view themselves as having "excellent" mental health to a significantly greater degree than do independents and Democrats. Although it must be nice for so many of these folks to feel so darned good about themselves (after all, self-esteem is so important in the US), self-reports of self-perceptions of mental health are not necessarily the best means of mental health assessment. If you spend a bit of time dealing with folks who have some serious personality disorders, for example, they'll often tell you they're perfectly okay - it's everyone else who's messed up. So it goes.

No doubt that many of these same folks with "excellent" mental health are engaging in much rejoicing at the hostage situation at a Clinton campaign office. Praise the Lord and pass the Thorazine.
