The party is just getting started

contra AP, the deeper issues have not been addressed. There's some mention of the potential for the Napsterization of news articles if AP has its way. You remember Napster, right? The RIAA went on a rampage, managed to get Napster shut down (although it eventually reopened as a pay-per-download joint), a handful of individuals ended up being sued for downloading mp3s on other peer-to-peer networks, and mp3 downloads continued relatively unabated. RIAA won some battles but lost the war. AP is likely to see history repeat. In the meantime, the boycott continues.
